Purchased several years ago as a seedling from a breeder in Florida. Was it grown from a seed made by nature or by manual cross pollination? Where did that palm originate?

F1 vs f2 foxy lady

The collection has a few standard green Foxies, and a Variegated specimen whose crown receives full sun. FULL DISCLOSURE…these are not photos of my palms, nor did I take these photos. What’s the difference between the variegated and the green ? There’s been a couple times where large all green forms have been available, but it hasn’t been too often. Can anyone tell me where I can buy a small foxy lady or gear me in the right deduction thank you

Foxy Lady palm

Call me anytime to chat about transplanting palms. They say the foxy lady is a rocket but the growth rate appears to be the same as seedlings. The foxtails have been grown in some shade, and the foxyladies have been growing in at least 1/2 day Sun.

  • I picked up a few seed that was on the ground while taking pics.
  • There is a variegated one on ebay right now ends in 21 hours
  • The foxtails have been grown in some shade, and the foxyladies have been growing in at least 1/2 day Sun.
  • I wonder if the very elongated seed has more Veitchia traits and the more rounded F2 seed has the foxtail traits?
  • Sometime even though they are hard, they float.

@here does anyone have Foxy Lady seed they would like to sell? Wanting to put them out but not if they’re not a true hybrid. Hybrids seem to have a higher rate of growth for some reason. The seed looks pretty elongated, so I would think it would have a lot of Vetchia characteristics. Maybe something I might try to track as time goes on.

I have got palms from Flouibunda and jungle music and never had the problem I had with this palm of you are going to ship palms at least learn how to pack them!!! I never said the palm looked bad I said it was basically bare root and variegated which I specifically said I didn’t want!!! He is the only one to have a problem with their foxy lady order, and started to complain even before it was delivered. 1 of each 3 and 7 is slightly variegated with 2 of each being greens. Good quality plant and amazing growth.
Foxtails that I’ve grown all seem to throw one spear and sit for a long time (weeks to months), at which point they resume normal growth. Apparently when the greenies are much older they can also put out the odd variegated leaf. I ask because I have 3 one leaf seedlings and they all have variegation so I’m just curious if they’ll all keep this as adults /topic/33571-producing-wodveitchia-seed/ The seeds all had 2 white racing stripes. Therefore, you would expect the foxtails to have the wider leaves.

Most likely a resold Rancho Soledad plant or a Florida import from Sparkman. But if there is actually “zero” movement, your palm is probably already dead. Even in the slowest sickliest palm, you should notice some movement of the spear – even 1/8 of an inch in a week assures that your palm is still alive. If you meant the spear has not moved at all, then your palm was in trouble from day one. You said, “I marked the spear the day it was delivered, and there has been zero growth.”

  • FULL DISCLOSURE…these are not photos of my palms, nor did I take these photos.
  • I have 2 that look just like a foxtail.
  • Purchased several years ago as a seedling from a breeder in Florida.
  • They will feel heavier than the empty seeds as well.
  • Wow that looks like a lot of growth for 6 months since planting.
  • Appears to be the green form.

Myolensis triple and the (now infamous) foxy lady… Last year I added three Beccariophoenix alfredii, which I’m really liking so far due to their hardiness, and some Areca palms. I caught the “Palm tree bug” a few years ago when my wife and I wanted to add some planters to our yard, and I’ve been turned into a palm-tree nerd, as i call myself, ever since.

Hybrid palms for sale 1gal sizes

I came across foxy gold the legendary Foxy lady palm.
There is full green and mostly green. Exactly I believe even the green form has some at some point I saw a mature green form produce some variation. Did not notice the variegation earlier but as Jim pointed out, on the lower leaf there it is. Yeah I could tell it is 100% green as well.
@96720 Taking a look at your foxy lady in the pic. I have an f2 foxy lady I might be interested in letting go if you are interested I can come pick up that palm at your convenience, deliver you $200 cash, plus the 3 Pseudophoenix seedlings in the pic if you would be interested in selling.
So today is my 24 hour soak, I added some super thrive to the water at 1 tsp per gallon and am hoping that my plant drinks it up! Both are superbly grown, just needs to planted to adapt to So Cal conditions and watering. There are many other wonderful palms to grow where you are. There are more palms than Foxy Lady. As Dean says, if it doesn’t budge after a week or two of this shock, you may have a dead palm and one day the crownshaft will just collapse on you along with any green material that remains.
